Getting rid of energies
Space clearing is one type of treatment of environmental problems caused by subtle energies. However it is not as effective, in our experience, as energetic balancing of the environment.
Is it Feng Shui?The short answer is no. Feng Shui and space clearing are two entirely different techniques of dealing with the environment. One is based on the ancient Chinese interpretation of the energies within the land and how they affect human health, prosperity and relationships (amongst other things), while space clearing deals with the those issues and gets involved in other things such as the earth grids, other beings such as elementals and a wider range of additional energetic influences. This is not to say that Feng Shui is generally less effective, just that it treats the environment in a different manner. You can read more about the differences here between the two styles here.  Just as Feng Shui has schools teaching different techniques, so the art of space clearing has different approaches as well. For example, some practitioners believe in furniture placement as being the most important aspect, although that has become less popular in recent years. We use different methods which are just as effective.
Probably the area of most concern to us in particular is the bedroom and the placement of the bed. The reasoning is that, as you spend something like one third of your lives sleeping, it is important that the bed is clear of noxious energies, that you are not sleeping over some negative energy lines. This we discover through dowsing.
What else is involved?Other people are more interested in emf protection. They use various types of equipment to clear the area of electromagnetic radiation. This can certainly bring relief. It is not a complete treatment by any means, and we tend not specialize in it by itself, preferring to take it into account along with all the other factors when we work. Still others will consider this is more concerned with hauntings and ghosts. These ghostbusters are more interested in the supernatural aspect of the environment.
However, it is not always obvious what could be the cause of haunted houses.
So what is the best approach? The problem with this approach is that the whole idea is based on getting rid of things, of stopping hauntings, of providing emf protection. In other words, it is based on the belief that if there is something nasty in the environment, then it should be disposed of. While that is an approach which can bring about success, we have found that longer lasting benefits can be gained by not simply getting rid of stuff, but of bringing into balance and harmony all the aspects of the environment. This means we take into account more aspects than feng shui, for example. It also means we use a wider range of techniques. The traditional approach is certainly useful but does not address the full range of problems involved in this work.
