House Blessing

Jeanine, Your post hit home with me because it is something that I've been dealing with for several years with my own children.
Two things, be supportive and more importantly, listen. Sometimes that's all it takes to change the fear of unknown into allowing your children to claim their gifts as their own.
And secondly, have you considered a house blessing/cleansing? I have done this several times when it seems like the "activity" just won't give them a break and it truly does seem to help.

What if it is not an abnormal awareness. Normal covers such a broad brush...doesn't it?
What is normal to one person may be very matter of fact to another. I have been aware of energy and spirits since I was 2 or so.
At first they would come to me as I was attempting to go to sleep. I went to my mom and told her what was happening. Remember I was only 2 years old. She told me calmly and with love...."just tell them you are tired and need to sleep and that they need to go." So naturally that is what I did.
It is what I still do today some 66 years later and it still works. Claiming your power and your space. It works.
Throughout my life I would come to understand that I came in with an awareness that some other souls did not...or were not open to accepting. Apparently.......I was good with seeing into different frequencies.
It has been a blessing in my life. My normal life. Being aware and opening to higher frequencies of life and spirit allows one to be a facilitator to others at different times in life. At the very least to ones own self. I feel you are doing a wonderful job of supporting your child and please, please do not see it as fearful or a scary thing. That will be passed on to her.
Teach her a few basic rules. Seal yourself in the light. It is the creative light of all that is. Your God's light.
Ground yourself in sweet mother earth...Bless yourself in the four directions and know that your guardian angel will always be with you when you ask. It is written: Ask and it shall be given unto you. And it will.
Life is a gift and a blessing. So to is your gifted beautiful child.

Weird things

Jeanine, such things as you talk about certainly can be disturbing. Sadly, I think your little girl is pretty average in terms of 'seeing' things. Most, unfortunately, do not have a parent they feel they can turn to, like you. So, from that point of view, good for you!!

As for the other questions you raise, they are not so easy to answer. In your specific case, there might be very good reasons why there are these 'things' you can both see. It could be to do with the history of the place, or something else just as specific.

To be honest, I don't know the answer to the other questions you raise (and I'm not sure anyone else has a handle on them either). All I can say is that, from our point of view, we have noticed that the energies we deal with in our work have been changing more rapidly of late than at any other time. Maybe that IS to do with 2012 or something like it. Maybe it's something else entirely.

And as for the children, my private belief is that there always were a large proportion of them who could do what your girl does. It was just that the times weren't right for them to able to talk about it.

But I also think that there are more now like her, and that's due, in part anyway, to the fact that we as a people are more ready and willing to accept that such things really do exist. So, in a way, they are helping the rest of us understand a little more about what is going on around us.

Finally, your daughter can live a normal life, because you are helping her with her fears. She might lose the ability to see things, she might change in what she is able to see or do. It doesn't really matter, as long as she knows she has support and is believed.

A 'normal' life is, I believe, one where there is tangible support and love within guidelines, so allowing the person to be happy and secure. And, that, from what you are saying, is exactly what you are providing for you daughter.
