Meditation Power Can Clear Your Space!
'Meditation power' might not be two words which you thought would appear together. However, it is something which is not only true but provable! And the good thing is, you can use it to help keep your environment healthier. There are various types of meditation, but to bring about results you can use either of the two types described here. Before going any further, however, I should point out that what we are talking about here is changing your community's environment and making it better. Studies have shown that doing either of these techniques can bring about the following benefits: - A drop in violent crime
- A reduction in automobile accidents
- A reduction in litter and graffiti
- A drop in petty crime
- The creation of a generally more peaceful environment
Meditation power is something real!Tell me more!One of the techniques is called transcendental meditation (TM). This is a simple technique which was established by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. It is practiced twice a day, 15 to 20 minutes at a time. There are courses and classes everywhere so that you can join in and learn. ( This is the website if you want to have a look.)There have been hundreds of studies of the effectiveness of TM. The most interesting are those which show that if a city has just 1% of the population practicing TM, then crime rates fall. That might sound strange, but the studies are there. (For example, you can read Lynne McTaggart's book, 'The Intention Experiment' (pages 182-185) for more details.) Want something simpler?However, you might not want to get involved in learning TM. Or you feel that it's not right for you in some way. Don't worry! There's another, even easier technique that you can do. All you have to do is get a few similar-minded people together once a week. Just make sure that you're not going to get disturbed for at least 30 minutes. Get yourself into comfy chairs or something similar.
When you are ready, decide which physical location of your town, city, village, whatever, you will be focusing on. Perhaps it will be the town hall, or a statue or a well-known building. Whatever you choose, that's the focus for your meeting every week. All you do then is see that place clearly in your mind. When you have it, then see it surrounded (or filled) with white light. Keep it going for about 20 minutes if you can and then finish and sit up and chat or have a drink of tea or water and arrange your next meeting. All the benefits listed above can be had using this simple technique. Talk about meditation power!! This was started in a small town on the south coast of England. They soon noticed the effects and told others about it. Pretty soon, other places were trying it out and getting results. The beauty of it is its extreme simplicity and informality.
