Green lights at night

My sons have been complaining lately of not getting enough sleep. They both have seen a greenish, glowing light (not dark), about the size of a 1-2 inch ball in their room.

My older son says, it moves around the room all night long. It goes into different places of the house while we sleep. Sometimes it goes in circles like it's playing. He's seen the light turn into a man, who stands in front of the bed, staring at him. Sometimes it smiles and tries to talk.

My younger son says, the green light starts out small then goes bigger. It goes up, comes back down and stays still. It never comes close to them. The younger one says he's never seen the man.

They aren't scared of it but it bothers them. They watch it sometimes for a long time. Other times, they leave it alone and go to sleep. He says it happens almost every night. The younger one says sometimes his brother wakes him up to show him the light.

Right now, they don't like to be in the room by themselves at night. They both have to be in the room before they will go to sleep. Sometimes, the younger one wants to sleep in our room or the living room rather than his room.

What could these lights be? How do we get rid of them? What do we say to the boys to settle them. Thank you for your help.
