Earth Energy:
The Subtle Influence Of The Planet

There are many different types of earth energy on, around and within our planet. This energy can and does interact with us and our own subtle energy fields to make us feel good, or to make us feel unwell or just ‘not right’.

This list will give you some idea of the types of influences which can be at work at any one time...

• Schumann Resonance
• Natural Electromagnetic forces (e.g. lightning)
• Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) waves
• Curry Grid
• Hartmann Net
• Ley lines (but only according to some definitions!)
• Chi

The Schumann Resonance

This is the name given to the electromagnetic waves of energy which exist between the surface of the earth and the ionosphere. The waves resonate at about 7.8Hz (or cycles per second). This makes them very low frequency and many people say that the Schumann Resonance has a profound effect on life here.

Natural Electromagnetic forces

Although not proven to everyone’s satisfaction, there are those who say that earthquakes are preceded by ELF (Extremely Low Frequency) waves. Certainly lightning produces such waves and ELF's have been noted on some of the bodies of the solar system, principally Titan, one of the moons of Saturn.

Telluric currents (that is, currents of energy in the earth’s crust) were first proved in the nineteenth century. They are also of extremely low frequency and move in the direction of the equator during the day and reverse their flow at night. They are caused by the reactions between the solar wind and the outer part of our atmosphere.

Curry Grid

This is the first example of earth energy which can be classed as 'subtle energy'.

Named after the German who discovered it, the Curry Grid is a regular pattern of lines aligned diagonally with respect to the poles, and with gaps of about 3 meters between the lines. Where the lines cross, individuals are more likely to show effects on their health and well-being.

The lines can be dowsed, but some dowsers have noted that the lines seem to be weakening over the last few years.

Hartmann Net

This grid upon the earth was discovered after the Curry Grid by another German, a doctor. This planetary grid is aligned, North-South and East-West. The former lines are about 2 meters apart, whilst the other ones are a little further apart. The lines are alternating positive and negative so that there are places where two positives or two negatives cross. The latter is considered to be a very unhealthy place.

Again, dowsers recently have been noting a weakening in these lines. This may be due to some of the earth changes taking place.

It is interesting to note that most research into grids on the earth has been in mainland Europe. Little has been published in the United States or Great Britain.

Ley Lines

The original use of the term ‘ley lines’ has changed considerably over the years so that now it can mean different things to different people.

In the context of earth energy, ley lines are spoken of as once being made by humans (for transportation or communication of some kind) but the knowledge has been lost. Stone circles were thought to have been deliberately placed on the lines or lines were created for the stone circles. The term is very confusing and should be used with care!

Chi

China has a long history of earth energy lines, using such terms as dragon and tiger lines, yin and yang, sha and chi. Basically, these terms are used to signify beneficial or noxious energies in the earth. However, without the history of stone circles and the like, the Chinese study of Feng Shui lacks certain aspects of Western geomancy and relies more heavily on old cultural-based solutions.

The bottom line is that there are any number of things which can be called earth energy. In our work we have seen that these can have physical, mental or emotional effects on our clients. But they can also all be dealt with in various ways. After all, we are talking of the effects on the subtle energy body, the human energy field and the remedies for that are not your normal run-of-the-mill solutions!
