The Earth Energy Grid
Important Or Not?

The Earth energy grid is a concept which has gradually become more popular, especially amongst dowsers involved in healing. However, it is not always clear what is going on.

Gaia and beyond

Before going any further, you should be comfortable with the idea that living bodies appear to have energy running through them, along lines or meridians. Acupuncture is based on this assumption. (You can read more about subtle energy in the human body for further details.)

The idea that the Earth is also a living being was promoted by the work of James Lovelock, an independent scientist, who published the 1979 book 'Gaia: A new look at life on Earth'.

This established the idea (named after the Greek earth goddess) which was taken up by environmentalists and also New Agers. There were always some people throughout history who looked upon the Earth as a living being, with a soul and a body. Lovelock’s book merely gave that idea new flesh.

People involved in alternative healing had also long been interested in grids and lines. These were being called earth energy grids or energy lines. These particular ones were mapped out by Curry and Hartmann. Called the Curry Grid and the Hartmann Net, they were lines of force which covered the whole surface and had supposed negative properties where they crossed.

So we have Gaia on the one hand and a grid of lines on the other. Sounds like a good example of a meridians on a living body, doesn’t it?

What does this energy grid do?

Now that’s a good question!

It’s not immediately obvious how this earth energy grid operates. Of course, that doesn’t stop people putting forward ideas!

Sometimes, the idea of earth energies running in lines gets confused with ley lines. They aren’t the same thing, at least, not if you stick with the original idea of ley lines, that is.

People who are into dowsing earth energies claim to follow various lines across the surface of the globe. Different lines have been found, such as the Michael and Mary lines, or the Apollo line, all of which seem to tie together various sacred sites on the earth (such as Stonehenge).

Whether the grid was created by the sites or existed before them is open to question. As is the purpose of the lines.

The more regular grids, such as those of Curry and Hartmann (above) appear to be natural in origin, but they are also changing, according to other dowsers. This change is due, no doubt, to the earth changes taking place.

What does all this mean for me?

It means that you are affected, whether you like it or not, by flows of energy within the earth.

It means that your subtle energy body is being altered.

It means that your health is affected (either for better or worse) by your environment.

It means that things you can’t see have an effect on you.

And it also means that any changes that are happening to the earth energy grid will cause changes to happen in you.

Finally, it means that you should be willing to do something about the relationship between you and the energy around you
