Although not strictly speaking anything to do with space clearing, this is a useful tool to have when dealing with such issues.
It's a simple question, Jennifer, but not a simple answer.
In order to know the difference between your thoughts and those of anyone else, you have first to know what your thoughts and feelings are like for you.
By that, I mean that you would benefit from learning to 'tune in' to how you think, what it feels like when you let your mind wander, whereabouts in your head you feel such things. Sounds crazy, but you'll come to realize that for some things you'll 'feel' things towards the back of your head, for others, more to front and left, for example.
The more you are aware of your own feelings and thoughts, the easier it is for you to realize when such things in your head didn't start with you.
I would also suggest that you learn to dowse. That way, you can ask whether anything you're experiencing is truly yours or not, while you become used to it.
