Thank you for writing this, because I suspect there are many other parents and grandparents who have noticed this sort of thing and are equally at a loss.

From what you describe, it sounds like a classic example of a young child being sensitive to things we adults don't see. 'Ghost' and 'Monsters' are the best way he can describe what he is seeing.

I would bet quite heavily that there is something there to which he is responding. Assuming that this is not his normal behavior, then it would be wisest to accept what he says as the truth as he sees it.

That, I hope will explain it a little more clearly.

I would, however, strongly urge you to consider having your space cleared, as this sort of thing might well continue, and it is upsetting for both you, the parents and the child.
