Synchronicity

When people (or whatever) appear just after you've been thinking of them, that's called synchronicity. It's a very interesting phenomenon.
Do a search for it on Google and you'll read about all sorts of events where two or more seemingly unrelated things have happened which can only be described as strange.

Thanks for replying, and no the presence isn't frightening at all. The cats seem to be coming over to say hello or to introduce themselves, or that's how it feels. If that makes sense.
But the other things that happen is that I'll be thinking about someone or something and then he/she or it will appear. It's happened a lot.

As for feeling someone in the room, you could well be right. There might be another presence there and you could well be sensing it. It's not that unusual at all.
Whether the cats' actions are being triggered by that is hard to say, as you don't give much detail.
The bottom line is that you're not going mad when these things happen to you.
As most 'non-cat' people will tell you, they seem to attract cats. Cats seem to know which people do not really get on well with them or like them, and make a bee-line for them. I have no idea why; perhaps it's a cat sense of humor.
You also don't say whether the presence is disturbing or upsetting to you. If it is, then get the whatever it is cleared, otherwise, live your life as always!
